Hi everyone!  My name is Rachel Martin and I am so excited for this trip!  I am from a town outside Madison, WI named Mt. Horeb.  And no, it's not the one in the Bible (Mt. Sinai), unfortunately!  I just turned 22 in December and will be graduating from college in May from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD.  My major is Communication Disorders, which is Speech Therapy.  However, in order to do this come fall I must go to graduate school.  I will not be in graduate school, because I feel God is leading me to pursue other opportunities.  What are those opportunities?  I have absolutely no idea.  I also will have minor in Spanish and hopefully translate in Sioux Falls after the summer, but then again, who knows what I will be doing.

 

I am fairly close with most of my family.  My mom still lives in Mt. Horeb and is in love with God.  She is actually taking a missions trip through our church in Madison to Peru this summer for 2 weeks.  My dad also lives in Mt. Horeb and is married to Sally.  Sally has 2 kids, Josh and Ellyn, who I am a big fan of.  And I also have a sister, Missy, who is living in Virginia Beach, Va.  And...my dad and Sally have 2 dogs, Mac and Fletcher.  I couldn't leave them out.  I honestly have been blessed to have the family I do, despite some rough times, but God has strengthened me through those.  

 

I really feel God is going to do awesome things this summer, may they be seen or unseen.  His will will be presented before us and I can't wait to see what these things are.  Man, I can't wait to see God show Himself to us and see how much we will grow in our faith this summer.  Yeah, God is good, isn't He?
